find that it is not uncommon to talk with residents who have never traveled beyond the coast of Newfoundland.

Outside of the interesting villages that dot the coast, be sure to enjoy the vast natural beauty of this marvelous land. Areas such as Gros Morne National Park offer numerous hiking trails and give the visitor the opportunity to experience the powerful, untouched quality of this Province.

It is definitely worth going on a whale watch. There are 22 species of whales that come within sight of Newfoundland each year. And while you are out on the water you are likely to have the opportunity to see icebergs.

Newfoundland has a tremendous variety of experiences to offer the visitor. Although it is part of Canada and very close to the United States, you will find that it is truly a world apart. The language is a dialect of English heavily influenced by Irish, Scottish and French. The food is delicious as long as you like cod. Every village and city has a small town feeling which offers a wonderfully slower pace of life.

To get there, either fly and rent a car or take a ferry and bring your car. Bring your curiosity and desire for new experiences and be prepared to be engulfed in the calm joy for living that permeates life on Newfoundland.
