I have endured heartaches and joys
I have loved and not been loved
Tears and smiles have come and gone just like the ocean tides
I have looked into the mirror and not liked what was looking back
And I have looked into that same mirror and liked what I saw
I have fought my battles with humility and wander
And at times I wasn't sure if it was all worth it
Those were the times I had to remind myself who I really am and where I wanted to go
As I grow older I become wiser
I cherish serenity and peace of mind
I can dance and not care who is watching
I can make mistakes and not beat myself up
Today I can love myself and where my life is going
I am a woman that looks forward to each new day
