Is there an element of fiction in religion

by Judy Merrill

Created on: June 22, 2008

Not all religions are about faith, which would indicate an element of fiction. Many religions require proof. Through science and other approaches to life and living, proof of a living God is evident in works.

Religion is truly the seeking of a higher power we call God. It is God's existence that then becomes the fiction or reality we strive to understand through religion.

Love is a key element through all life. Seeing God in this particular energy helps us keep our religion (seeking God) in the atmosphere of love and life.

All life is energy. On the material level, the vibration is a gross element. Our spirit focuses on the inner being as the ultimate source. And yet, as human beings we are made up of body, mind and spirit.

As body our material vibration dictates so much of our life and how we accomplish our own self awareness and growth. It can become a selfish thing when we focus without a balance of mind and spirit.

We tend to create our opportunities through our focus on the positive approach to life and all our affairs. This creation is a part of the spirit within in touch with the God of our own understanding.

In the mind, we tend to live our lives on the vibration of potential and possibilities. Our mind creates our reality in the ego.

But in the ultimate process of human affairs, our reality is based in the spirit. This finer vibration is the eternal and ultimate part of our human complex. This is the centre where God lives and works the magic of our lives in a loving covenant of promise and love. This energy touches the soul and allows our personal growth and responsibility for all our learning.

Religion is the outpouring of our reality in spirituality. It is our inner seeking after a higher power we call God. Religion is the community in which we find compatible thought to seek this source in all of life's challenges.

The reality of religion is not formed in the mind on potential. The reality of religion is formed on the knowledge of a higher power in all our affairs. Spiritually we grow and change as we view God in the reality of existence.

While God is not immediately identifiable, it is certainly evident in our lives. The natural law working through all our affairs indicates a higher source of organization through the chaos and confusion of our own personal growth.

Perhaps God, lacking any human body and existence, is not readily seen. But the manifestation of love we encounter at every turn in our lives is as real as this existence of a higher power. The more we learn to be positive in our approach to life, the more positive is returned in measure. This is the law of attraction.
