This topic is always a very touchy topic to discuss in the black community. Some black women are very bitter at the fact that there are white women with their black men. Some even believe that white women are taking all of the "good" black men and leaving them to sort through the thugs and drug dealers. Through my experience with asking this same question to both black women and men the answers that I get vary. Some black men say they are fond of white women because they will do things black women wouldn't do. For example cater to them on a regular basis or be more sexually open. I have even heard outrageous answers from black men who have said they like white women because they are able to give them lighter babies.

In a video viewed on You Tube one man who was an athlete said that the only reason why he was attracted to white women was because the porno's he would watch when he was younger starred white women and because of that he built an attraction to them. The most prominent answer to come from both black men and women is that white women are easier to get. Meaning, the effort one has to put into getting a black girl's attention is cut in half when dealing with a white woman. Some black men believe that their status can improve and that they can overcome the hurdles of racism with a white woman on their arm.

I believe that the attraction that black men have to white women is both psychological and cultural. I believe it is psychological in the sense that in today's society and in many others a woman that is fairer skin and or has blond hair and blue eyes is seen as absolute perfection. On TV black women were not always portrayed in a positive light especially in the early 80's and 90's when we were growing up. White women were always seen as the prize that needed to be placed on a pedestal and the black woman was always seen as angry, aggressive and sexual . Some even believe that it started from slavery when the slave master's wife secretly fantasized about being with the slaves. A lot of black women are raised to be independent and strong to deal with the different curve balls society deals them when they become older and some black men would much rather a submissive woman than one that wants to stand equal.

I believe it is cultural because in a day and age as now where we have one big melting pot, being attracted to other races comes very easy. Being restricted to having relations to just one kind is unacceptable to most. For what ever reason black men are fond of white women truth be told love has no color. You can't help who you love or even who you like but we can agree there are definitely some influences.
