There are a lot of problems in the world today. The main problem is homelessness. Homelessness can be caused when a person is laid off or fired from his or her job. The person can be in big trouble if they don't have money saved up in a bank account. If they don't have any family or friends that will help them they will end up on the streets. Some people never recover from being homeless. Once people become homeless they are stereotyped and they don't have the means to get back on their feets. They have to find a homeless to stay in at night and they should look for work during the day. Some homeless people would rather hold a cardboard sign and beg for money.

Another problem in today's world is the lack of jobs. There are not any new jobs being created and the majority of them are going overseas. When people lose their jobs many of them need help. They need help buying food,medication,household items,gas and paying their bills. I have personally been in this situation and it isn't any fun. It is very difficult to get help from social services. You have to wait for hours just to see someone. Then you have to wait for another hour to see a case worker. Then the case worker gets all in your business. Then he or she gives you a form to get filled out by your last employer verifying how much money you were making. Then you have so many days to mail back the form or drop it off at the office. Then you have to wait for their decision.

The price of gas is a huge problem in today's world. The price of gasoline is over four dollars a gallon. Gasoline is a necessity for transportation and heat. People have to pay whatever the price of gasoline is. Nobody is doing anything to lower the price of gas in my opinion. The price of gas is steadily increasing. People are struggling just to make it to and from work.

Diseases are a problem in the world today. I am talking about diseases like cancer and AIDS. We have no cures for either of these diseases. These are two of the most deadly diseases today. I personally feel like if we can put a man on the moon, we should be able to cure these diseases. Why hasn't more progress been made? Why don't we ever hear about any breakthroughs?

The lack of good teachers in this world is another problem. The teachers are underpaid and overworked. The amount of money the teachers are paid, keeps men and women from teaching. They don't want have to struggle to pay their bills. Why should they struggle if they have college degrees? They are teaching the leaders of the future. The teachers have a very important job and they should be paid accordingly.

Another problem in the world is the war in Iraq. It has caused an increase in goods and aervices in the U.S. Our friends and relatives are getting killed and critically injured fighting in Iraq. Many American families are affected by the war in Iraq.
