The Fourth of July is one of the most important holidays that we celebrate in the United States. It's a time to celebrate the freedom that is America. Children are not immuned to the fun filled day of activities. Finding fun activities that you and your children can enjoy together shouldn't be too hard. So grab the kids, pop them in the car and head out for what is probably the most fun day of the year in the United States.
It isn't hard to find fun activities for your kids to do on July Fourth. It's everywhere around you. So all you have to do is decide which one is right for you and your family. There will be no boredom on this very special holiday if you take one of these activities and run with it.
Here are some of the top ideas for July 4th fun with the kids:
1. Camping- Kids love to go camping. You can go fishing, hiking and roast those hotdogs over an open campfire. This is a favorite activity for many Americans over this holiday. Get those tents up and throw your line into the water! Wait until your child catches their first fish. The look on their faces will say it all.
2. Fireworks- There is no doubt that if you live in the United States, you won't have any problems finding these on Independence Day. It is the ultimate celebration of our freedom from the British government, who by the way, is now our greatest ally. Fireworks will have your kids squealing with awe and amazement at the color filled sky.
3. Visit a historical landmark- If you live on the East Coast, there is no limit to the many places that you can take your kids for a look at how things started out in the United States. From Boston to Philadelphia our history abounds throughout these states. Whether you celebrate in Philly where the very first July 4th celebration occurred or if you go to Boston to visit the Old North Church and the Boston Tea Party site, you can't go wrong. Go a little further South for a taste of Colonial times in Williamsburg. Children will love this trip because they will not only learn a great deal about our history they can also grab some rides at Busch Gardens.
4. Ocean City, MD- Since it's usually very hot on July 4th, a trip to the beach can be the answer. Kids love swimming in the Ocean. So grab a boogy board and let the kids ride some waves. You are sure to see some awesome fireworks. The food is great and who could spend a day at the beach without walking on the boardwalk. Don't forget your boardwalk fries!
5. Picnics- This is the All-American activity for Independence
