If guys think that getting presents for girls is a hassle, well I could represent girls and say DITTO. There is a wide variety of gift choices for guys in general. Electronics, clothes, sporting goods, shoes, watches, name it there are different kinds of gifts for guys. If you consider budget, it makes it harder to get guys presents because it might be a little costly too (thinking about it, girls who like jewelleries costs guys a lot too.)
I remember last April was my boyfriend's birthday and I had this same dilemma of getting him a present. I wanted his birthday to be perfect. In hopes of finding the perfect present I surveyed my favourite boy buddies and random guys on school on what guys want as presents. Surprisingly I got very touching and sensitive answers from these guys. When I asked the question most of these guys answered me "NOTHING" without hesitation. They told me that guys do not want anything especially if it's your boyfriend. They told me that our love and presence is enough. I was really surprised how guys are not very materialistic.
So, in the end I did not juice out the information that I wanted from these guys for my boyfriend's birthday. However, what I got from them is that the material itself is not important. What are important are your intentions for the present and the effort you exerted.
I then finally decided to do various stuff for my honey's birthday. The first thing is, I made a surprise party for him with the help of our close friends. I asked the help of my friends in bringing some food. At the same time I made pasta, tacos and etc. I also got him balloons and sparklers for his ice cream cake. My friends helped me decorate our common room while I kept him distracted and away from the room. I also prepared sheets of small papers where I asked people he knows to write birthday wishes and notes for him. After the preparations I brought him to the room and we had the party with our friends. We also had a drinking session after and some high school-like truth or dare game.
As for my personal presents, I kept it until the last moment. I invited him to our house. I hid the presents in different places in the house and I wrapped it in an unusual environmentally friendly way. I got him things that I know he want and need. Unfortunately I got him the wrong size of things because I kept everything a surprise. So a tip for girls, make sure you get a good spy to get your man's sizes right. He liked the idea and he was very happy.
Again in the end, you must know what your boyfriend likes. It does not really matter what kind of thing you get him, the important part is that it came from your heart. Presents should have meanings and not just a present for the sake of it. Make your man feel his worth. Spend the whole day with him and pamper him too.
