Reflections: Nightmare vacations

Vacationing in Myrtle Beach sounded great... until we got there. I remember being so excited in the car, blabbing about how cool it was going to be, having a house right at the beach. We arrived, and so far, so good. We got our key from the main office and proceeded to unpack before we did anything else. Well, little did we know our house would be so small! They counted a hallway as a bedroom! Not to mention, that hallway lead to another bedroom and only bathroom shared between the three bedrooms. We all decided to keep an open mind, even though there were six of us sharing the house.

After everything was set (well as set as it could be with two cabinets in the kitchen), we went to rent a golf cart. I didn't know how expensive it was going to be, but i thought, well, for a week it couldn't be too much, maybe a hundred dollars or so. Well, my dad was there and we were going to get two, one for him and one for his wife and my stepmother, Carrie. As we rode up, there was a sign with the rates: two hundred and fifty dollars for one golf cart for five days! That was insane and so much more expensive than the last place we went. On top of that, now we could only get one and share it between six people! So we got the golfcart and took it home. About halfway there, the cart started to slow down and we were in the middle of traffic with other golfcarts and cars. Horns were honking and people were zooming by us giving us the finger and yelling cuss words at us. We had to call Carrie and get her to come get us. Turns out, the golfcart wasn't charged up! Two hours and lots of manual labor later, we successfully pulled (and pushed, and cussed at and hit) the golfcart into the dirt driveway (which by the way, was not in the pretty little picture online) and plugged it in to be charged.

The next morning, Dad took the golfcart for a spin to ride down by the beach. I went with him thinking there wouldn't be anyone else out there and we could have a nice drive down the strip. Boy was i wrong! As soon as we got on the mainstrip, there were golfcarts bumper to bumper at seven o'clock in the morning! Where the hell are these people going? I know not everyone in this place gets up and decides to go for a drive this early! It wasn't even that nice outside! But no, there were people (mostly drunks, old people and really young kids that should't be driving unless they had a death wish) out on the road acting like it was two o'clock in the afternoon and everything
