Does it matter if your beer is American brewed?

Okay, so I was wrong. I completely admit it. When I originally wrote this article. I figured that In Bev wouldn't be able to buy Budweiser Beer. But now it looks like we will all be crying in our beers. In Bev got the finacial backing to buy this great American company. And now they will do what ever they want with it. And that might not be such a good thing.

Budweiser Beer may or may not still be manufactured in the United States. It may or may not still be the great American beer that it has been for 130 years when an Italian immigrant started brewing it in the U.S. But with In Bev completing a hostile takeover that makes this all American company just another company up for grabs. It makes almost every American feel that nothing is sacred anymore. It kind of makes every American feel a little queasy.

Now that In Bev has taken over, they will probably reduce the St. Louis brewing facility workforce of 6000 strong. That's because they have a reputation for cutting staffing. That will mean job losses for the people of St. Louis. Of course people in St. Louis are upset that a foreign company may take over their very source of livelihood. Everyone from top brass on down will be considered for job cuts now that In Bev has taken over.

Let's hope that In Bev will still oversee the creation of Budweiser. If they stopped producing this very popular brand of beer they would be losing millions of dollars yearly. Budweiser sales represent nearly half of Anheuser-Busch's gross revenue. Budweiser is an American favorite and they wouldn't dare mess with an already proven bestseller.

With a foreign company coming into America and buying Anheuser Busch, I originally said that I would continue drinking Budweiser beer. But now that I think about it again, I don't want to drink this very popular American beer, anymore. That's because it's no longer owned by an American company. It kind of ruins the taste of the beer now that many Americans may be losing their jobs. It kind of loses its distinct American flavor, now that a company from another country has swooped in and bought yet another American company. It makes one wonder if any businesses that are based in America are actually American owned.

In Bev certainly has picked a bad time for a takeover of Anheuser-Busch. With the American economy in a downturn this certainly doesn't make any American sleep better at night. At this time Americans would rather see U.S. companies staying as such, thus remaining on American soil. Especially at this time, Americans would like to see a product that has stood as a symbol of great American pride for 130 years, not being taken over by a foreign investor who could change the entire meaning and pride of this once American owned company.

Anheuser-Busch was a proud brewer of Budweiser Beer and if In Bev does the right thing they won't mess with a beer that makes millions of dollars each year. They will have to keep Budweiser Beer in America because Budweiser has become a clear symbol, over the years, of being an American made product. With the hostile takeover of Anhueser-Busch it is just like taking another great America ideal out of America, along with baseball, and hot dogs.
