Poetry: Lessons in life

Sometimes

Sometimes you think
you have nothing,
always grasping and reaching.
We all want more.
The big screen t.v., the brand
new car.
Focusing in on the material,
forgetting the important things.
One loss changes
it all.
How could I focus on things,
they mean so little.
Life revolves around
those we adore.
Material objects mean
so little,
in the greater picture,
less is always more.
Until you speak of love,
it opens every door.
Sometimes you think
you have nothing,
only to find
You once had everything.
