Harmony
ocean painted eyes that capture me
in their unwavering gaze and keep me
completely still and in a profound moment
(as she)measures my heart and finds its rhythm
through the silence between every beat
as this driftwood sould un-captured by tides
is magnetically drawn to her tranquil shore
through radiant eyes harboring salvation
prettiest eyes I've ever seen exude a love so
unbreakable and perfect that it intimidates
and frightens away the guards at unlocked
gates and shrinks every article of armor
transparent and into the truthful ragged and
damp (in)security blanket that it really is
and she inhabits this world to heal its conditions
consumed by the sunbeam that shines from her eyes
every uncounted blessing turned shooting star
landing within the perimeters of the fences that
define the contours of my world as she so tenderly
widens the borders in those carefully chosen
places where it perfectly harmonizes with hers
and this ample love becomes a scarlet rose
in constant bloom restoring a devout faith in miracles and
Springtime flowers replenish this once barren soil
If my body is aching during a time of drought
she brings me rain as the sun is still shining
Then God intervenes and illuminates our love in
a heavenly rainbow He paints in the near distance
for our faith is no longer tested because of our
knowledge turned wisdom that the gold and its pureness
is not buried beyond it in that wayward distance
but forever anchored at the bottom of our beating hearts....

Thoughts of You
If I only had a single rose,

Where ever I roam upon this earth
I carry your love in all that I do
And as each day ends
