Do you get visions of dollar signs dancing in your eyes when you consider the thought of a Walt Disney World vacation trip? Well it is possible to enjoy the Magic Kingdom and save money at the same time. The most important factor is to set a budget and stick to it and everything else should fall into place.

The biggest expense for most families will probably be traveling to Walt Disney World. This is not a budget breaker for those of us who are lucky enough to live in Florida or for visitors who are a day's drive away. This is where families will have to weigh their options and figure out if airfare or a road trip requiring gas, food and lodging is better for their budget. Early planning and being internet savvy may come in handy for researching flights. Booking well in advance and calling the airlines direct can sometimes save you hundreds of dollars.

What's a trip to Disney World without a ticket into the park? There are many options when it comes to purchasing passes. If you plan on visiting more than one of the parks then consider a multi-day pass. AAA members can save money by getting their tickets at an AAA office and Florida residents can save just by being Florida residents. You can visit the Disney website and see which tickets suit your needs.

When visiting Disney World you have the option of staying on the Disney property. The least expensive selection of Disney hotels would be the value resorts. They are family friendly and can be reserved for under one hundred dollars per night. The biggest benefit would be using the Disney transportation which will save you parking lot fees and gas. If you want to pay a little less for a hotel then consider Kissimme and International Drive. This is still just a short drive over to the Disney area. There are plenty of smaller scaled hotels in this area that are clean and safe plus AAA rated.

It's hard not to splurge on food when on vacation but there are tricks to cut a few corners and save. Pick hotels that have fridges, microwaves or kitchenettes. Then you can store some basic groceries and prepare at least one meal of the day. Many hotels have breakfasts and a great choice would be one with a complimentary full breakfast. That will leave extra dollars for lunch and dinner and you'll come out ahead if one of those meals is prepared in your room. There are plenty of all you can eat style restaurants it is a good way to fill up for under ten dollars per person.

So as you plan and budget out your Walt Disney World trip remember that the memories you bring home will be free.
