How to end school bullying

Bullying isn't nice. Most of us have experienced it, and if you're getting bullied in school, you probably want it sorted out. Bullying is, and always will be, a big issue in schools. However, if you'd like to stop it happening to you, you can.

Everyone says one of two things. Some might say 'tell a teacher'. Sure, you can tell a teacher if that's what you want. The trouble is, quite a lot of school teachers won't do a thing about it. Teachers in your school might listen and try to do something about it, but in some schools, there are very few teachers that would. So, you can tell a teacher. However, other people might say 'don't tell a teacher'. People seem to consider it as 'grassing', and that if you tell it will get worse. The fact is, if the bully, or bullies, don't find out, it's your choice. Don't listen to friends. If you want it sorted, sort it.

Bullies are cowards. You've probably heard that loads of times before, but it's true. If a bully gets told off by a teacher, they won't like it. They're scared of the teacher. You can tell the teacher while the bully is present.

If things get too much for you, you can get your parents to notify the police. The parents of the bully will be contacted and warned. In this instance, the bully will find out that you told on them, but with their warning, if they touch you, they will be in trouble with the police. Just make sure your parents speak with the headmaster of the school first at some point, to give the school a chance to sort it out. If they don't, then you can turn to the law.

You might prefer to fight back, but things can get quite nasty if you do that. Some bullies only bully others because they think they won't fight back. Fight back if you want, but telling a member of staff might be a better idea.

If things get bad, remember. Don't beat yourself - beat the bullies!
