How to organize your household

for yourself.)

Obviously, there was no furniture to arrange in the stairs example, but once all the junk is out of the way you are able to put things exactly how you've always wanted them.

4. Clean the roomclear to the edges! Dust, vacuum, and wash the dirt away. (You will know if you haven't finished the cleaning job and since any unfinished business is an energy leak you will feel worse instead of better. Do the job right the first time. You will like the way you feel!)

In the example of the stairs, she had the family thoroughly dusting the banisters, getting on their hands and knees with the vacuum and getting all the edges of each stair, and just really doing their best to make it clean. It may sound like a lot of work, but it gets so clean that it feels good.

5. What are the next smaller things that need to be in the room? (Phones? TVs? Night Stands? Lamps?) Clean and put them where they belong.

I would even add pictures and wall hangings to the list. Get it looking the way it should.

6. Sorting

a. Keep only the very best. Get rid of anything that is broken, worn out, or stained.

b. Keep only those things that you still use and need. Goodness needs to keep flowing. If you don't need it or use it, pass it along to someone else who can. (I suggest taking it down to the nearest Goodwill, or similar stores)

c. Set limits. If you have too many things, you will wind up with a mess again and you don't want that. Have only 5 things on your dresser. Only 15 stuffed toys. Only 6 pair of jeans at a time.

A really great example she gave was about how you can organize your closet. She said that you pick out your absolute favorite outfit. Top, bottom, shoes, jacketthe works. Then you take everything in your closet and ask yourself if this shirt or those shoes make you feel as good about yourself as when you wear that favorite outfit. If the answer is no, toss it into a pile. That pile doesn't necessarily mean that you have to throw it out, but what this does for you is sets a standard for when you go shopping. You get to know what clothes you like the best and which ones are only mediocre. If you know that, you can shop better and not stock up on so many clothes that end up pushed to the back of the closet.

7. Make it beautiful. Put everything away in such a way that it looks beautiful.

8. Stand back and look at the good job you did.

This being a religious function, our speaker reminded us that when God was creating the world that he took the time to look at his creations and
