Sometimes it is hard to move forward in life. There are so many memories to deal with from the past. Many times it is hard to move on from a romantic relationship. A person may miss the sexual part or the emotional part of a past relationship. It may be hard for a person to get over a spiritual connection they had with a male or female. They may have problems leaving the other person's child or grandchildren behind. It may be hard for a person to forget all the good times they had in the relationship. It may be hard for someone to forget all the dreams that were shared during the relationship. They don't realize that maybe the relationship wasn't meant to be. Maybe the relationship wasn't a healthy one to be in.
Sometimes when dealing with a breakup people only want to remember the good times. They seem to forget about all of the arguments and verbal abuse. In some cases, they forget about the physical abuse that occurred in the relationship. I have met quite a few women that have this problem. They take their emotional baggage from one relationship to another. They still harbor feelings for their first love. I personally don't believe I have this problem.
Some people have trouble moving on from old jobs. They don't understand why they were fired. They don't want to accept what has happened to them. They don't want to move on with their lives and they want to blame themselves. They don't want to look at it as a new opportunity. They don't want to leave their friends at the workplace behind. They don't realize they have the opportunity to make new friends. They have the opportunity to find a better paying and more suitable job or career.
Some people don't want to leave their old neighborhoods behind. They don't want to leave their neighbors behind. They want to stay in the same old house and live for thirty years. They don't see it as an opportunity to grow as a person. If you can afford a bigger and better house, why wouldn't you buy one?
Some people don't want to graduate from high school. They want to be a teenager forever. They don't want to face the obstacles and challenges of the real world. Most prisoners don't want to leave prison. They don't want to have to find a job and pull their own weight in the real world. They like three hot meals and having a basically free place to stay. The only thing some of them know is prison life. Some of them don't want more out of life.
Most people have trouble moving on after someone has died. I think this is completely understandable. People don't want to forget their loved ones and the special times they shared with them. They don't want to have to move on in their lives without that person. Many people become depressed after someone has died. Some people feel the same way after their pet dies.
