They beat His back and punched His face,
Yet He uttered not one word.
They tore out His beard and spat in His face,
Yet He uttered not one word.
They hated and despised Him,
Yet He uttered not one word.
They mocked the fact He was the Christ,
They scorned His Deity,
Yet He uttered not one word.
They gambled for His garments,
They nailed Him to a tree,
Yet He uttered not one word.
They cared not that He bore their sins,
Across His blood-stained back,
Yet He uttered not one word.
They mocked and jeered but He only said;
"Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do."
We nailed Him to that tree
Yet all he utters is, "Come unto Me!"
