The symptoms of stroke include: sudden numbness or weakness in the face, arm, or leg, sudden confusion and trouble speaking or understanding speech, trouble seeing, dizziness, problems walking, loss of balance and coordination, and sudden headache. The sooner you or your loved one gets medical attention, the better the chances to prevent disability; it is important to get to the hospital within sixty minutes after symptoms appear. Stroke usually occurs when blood flow is blocked by a clot in the brain. Cells in the immediate area begin to die because the oxygen and nutrients are no longer able to supply the cells. Each minute that ticks by means more brain cells are dying.
To summarize, memory loss can be helped by exercising the brain daily and using mnemonic devices to help you remember. Nutrition, diet, including using supplements and herbs can help improve memory, and mental and physical exercise not only helps reduce stress, but can help to improve concentration and memory. Some reasons that can contribute to memory loss besides stress include: sleep disorders, depression, alcoholism, and infections. Lastly, watch for any changes in your memory and seek medical attention if it's a medical emergency.
It's good to know there are things I can do to improve my memory, provided I do them consistently. My goal is to stay as fit and sharp as I possibly can. This is the only body I have, and I want to make sure I take good care of it. Now where did I put my car keys?
