Through out literature and history, kisses have made their mark. It is one of the most natural things we do. Babies and toddlers do it just like teenagers and adults do it. And as we grow and change and give our kisses, our kisses grow and change too. They develop different meanings and convey different messages; they reflect our growth and changes. For example there are good bye kisses that are sweet and lingering, meant to emblazon itself upon ones memory. There are hello kisses, for that matter, that are fervent and eager that are meant to convey a sense of longing finally fulfilled. Yes, there are a myriad of types of kisses and they are all beautiful and constantly changing. Have you ever considered what you life would be without kissing, or the world for that matter? I don't believe that we can exist without it. Kissing has integrated itself into our lives, into our very beings and has become so natural that it is nothing short of instinctual.
When you consider what kissing and a kiss itself truly are, you should be able to recognize and give it the distinction of being an equalizer. It isn't an equalizer in the sense of everyone is either good or bad at it, but as an action that is universally undertaken by all people. There is no discrimination of any form when it comes to having a desire to kiss or kissing. It is as though we are all born with this craving to grant and receive kisses from day one. I feel as though it is a gift from the ages, this desire and it is unlike any other we possess. When you consider just how much we don't think of or look at when giving or receiving of kisses you will see just how right I am. No matter what your age, size, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, location or any other factor every single person in this world has either kissed, been kissed, or both at some point in their lives. Kissing transcends all barriers. It is a common action that we share with all people in this world.
Kissing has and will always be a language all its own. It is an art form that we use to express ourselves. It is an ever constant hunger that has evolved and transcended time itself. We use it to express ourselves when words are either not enough or too much. It is a timeless action to convey who we are and how we feel. Yes, kissing is a sort of mortal magic, indeed. Maybe the magic lies within the simplicity of it. Or maybe it is how the simplicity can become complex at a moments notice because of a minute change. Kisses have boundless meanings and possibilities that will continue to vary, change and grow until the end of time.
