A brief history of Canada Day

2008 is a Historical time mark in Canada as we will celebrate the 400th year of the founding of Quebec City; they are truly the founding Canadian forefather's in Canada's history. Founded in 1608, very few towns, or city's survived celebrating four centuries in North American. This city marks Canada being found as a state.
2008, also marks the 141st anniversary of Confederation (I AM CANADIAN).

Rejecting being under British rule is truly the meaning of Canada day. It marks our uniqueness and independence by forming a new country; and union or marriages of provinces from coast to coast.

A royal proclamation asking all Canadians to partake in a celebration of the birth of Canada on June 20th, 1868 by Governor General Lord Monck was issued, but was not enforced.

Law was finally passed in 1879 deeming that a holiday had in fact been established to celebrate the birth of Canada, it was called Dominion Day. This statute also finally gave us the formal name "Canada". Unlike the USA; nothing has survived of any record showing that Dominion Day had ever been celebrated except twice. Finally we celebrated officially in 1917, as this was a milestone marking the 50th anniversary of the Confederation.

Ten years would pass before Dominion Day was officially celebrated again.

1927, the next celebration of Canada was held, in the form of the Diamond Jubilee Confederation.

In 1958 the Canadian government woke up from their "COMA" and began to create celebrations using a military ceremony preformed by regiments called "Trooping the Colour". This was then followed with a musical concert preformed by a band, and an array of fireworks.

1967 was Canada's centennial, this is the point in time truly when Canadians became more patriotic towards Dominion Day. Even the Queen showed up (yes we are still connected to the British to some extent).

Very later into the 1960's multi-cultural concerts were nationally televised across Canada from Ottawa. The government started giving grants and financial supports after 1980 to cities across Canada to promote Dominion Day.

"O Canada" the national anthem of Canada came to be in 1980, distinctly marking a New era of Vocal respect.

Dominion Day was finally changed to "Canada Day" on October 27, 1982, because earlier that year of the adoption of the Canada Act. The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms forms the first part of the Canada Act, this is Human Rights in Canada.

BUT strangely enough, there is NO group or government agency that investigates, or enforces these rights for Canadians! It is up to an individual to SUE on their own, as there is no legal coverage here in Canada ensuring the Rights of Canadians.

100% truth, feel free to contact the Minister of Culture and Heritage, as that is who
is responsible for The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

The Human Right's Commission in Canada is also not responsible, on a provincial or Federal level pertaining to the application of the Charter~! WOW

If you do not have the money honey, you do not have equal rights in Canada, it is;
in fact: quite possibly the largest JOKE in Canada's history, if we do not change it!

This Canada July 1st, I will sing our national anthem, attend the fireworks, and parade; and pray that we will achieve new height's for our rights; in human history within Canada.

For we; can not be known as a nation living a lie.

O'Canada
