What are these feelings we possess so spontaniuously? Or on occasions not spontaniously as we proceed to hide behind invisible barriers to prevent our heart being broken or as the heartbroken may say ripped out.
To define the word love would be a task in itself, but to figure out the nature of the feeling and where we actually harbour it is indeed a mission...
I mean if these things such as heartbreak and the ripping out of hearts were to happen in a literal sense then we would undoubtedly be dead, so who created the illusion that this muscle in our body presents itself in a pretty shape and is responsible for our feelings of love toward a significant other?
One of the most vital organs we have working in conjunction of course with the brain- the orophis of the mind, which provides us with the expected physical reactions to go alongside our emotions.
My description of love from start to finish is as follows you; try to focus and your eyes glaze over as the very sight of your lover makes you weak at the knees, your palms begin to sweat, your heart races and suddenly the words that usually come so easily you now fail to deliver, they are the first thing you think of when you wake, and the last thing on your mind at night, a telephone can never replace a smile, each and every moment counts, when your around them you see nothing else its almost like time stands still and your exactly where you want to be, in a bubble that you hope never bursts, theres no comfort greater than knowing a person so well that you forget yourself, its like an addiction that you never want to shake, everytime you breathe you take them in and you just hope that what you are feeling is everlasting reality.
But is any of this purely lust? And exactly what kind of chemical inbalance is this? That of the brain? Or of the heart?
Possibly the answer with some controversy is- its all in your head, as if the feelings disapear and one of the pair stands alone in love, the other often blames the numbness or loss of feeling on the fact that thier head is a mess, or they just dont feel the same.
We fall so quickly into love, yet it takes such a considerable amount of time to fall out of it.
Time may well be the best healer but it never takes away the pain, it only numbs it, until eventually we are left with a scar, only then are we are ready to experience what once put a spring in our step, no matter how many times the heart is broken for most the desire to fall again far outweighs the fear of risking our emotions.
This is why if we create a clearer understanding of it we can continue to love like we have never been hurt, as we know that it is not impossible to overcome the pain we once felt each time getting stronger and wiser to loves wicked ways, abiding by philosophies we stumble upon through lifes course, we begin to put heartbreak down to fate, and realise that the barriers we create can still protect us without being visible to another.
Happy endings do exsist the elderly people we see laughing together and endeavouring to enjoy each others company at the same romantic places where our love begins, are living proof.
We should never look for love, as in some way shape or form it will find us- and if all else fails then we must keep the defence mechanism in our heads afterall is said and done the heart is infact only a muscle.
