and music is above average and fun to listen to. With an excellent combat system, CABAL does break a little bit of the regular MMORPG mold. Allowing players to gain combo skills that force knee jerk, twitch reactions to unleash devastating chains of damage, it does force players to pay attention in combat. If you're a big fan of Player versus Player (PVP), CABAL Online actually encourages that kind of thing, allowing you to battle other players and rewards the winners with enhancements for your character. The game also offers an item marketplace if you feel that your character needs some extra muscle. For the graphics enthusiast and PVP fan, CABAL Online definitely gives it in large quantities. If you enjoy a more familiar fantasy MMORPG, Last Chaos by Aeria Games has really stepped up to the plate. Though not graphically as amazing as other MMORPGs, this one is still up there. Music and sound is decent, nothing ground breaking, but not bad. The game affords you a huge amount of freedom however allowing you to participate in guild wars, PVP, quests, and planned events like castle sieges. Much of the game is a grind, however, to level up, not a short ride to the upper echelons of the game. The game also offers pets that can level up with you, though it's at a slower rate. Eventually though your pet pays you back in the form of letting you hitch a ride. One big downside to the game is that classes can only be one sex. Because the game is free however, it's much easier to take the bad with the good. Overall, Last Chaos is an impressive game, with decent graphics, good class choices, and a lot to do. Finally, if you're looking for a younger, more child friendly MMORPGs, there is the surprisingly fun Scions of Fate by NetGame. The games inspiration beginning as a comic, Scions brings a very light and relaxed feel to the MMORPG market. The graphics are far more cartoon based, though don't let that fool you into thinking your characters attacks are any less brutal. Musically, its great at the intro screen, but pretty terrible once you get in game. The gameplay is pretty loose though you spend a lot of time with a party, leveling up together as you go through the game. Based around martial arts, you can choose from four classes, swordsman, bowmen, spearsman, and healer. Be careful when you make your account though, whatever sex your information says you are, is what you're stuck playing! Scions, overall, is quite a fun and cute game for those that like a more relaxed and enjoyable environment. It is available for download from http://fate.netgame.com

THE IMPORTANT THING to remember about free MMORPGs is that you normally get what you pay for. All of the aforementioned games have item marketplaces where you can spend real money on items, clothing, and accessories. There is no such thing as a free lunch, even in the free MMO market. Money made from those marketplaces are often used to further enhance the game that you're playing, so it may be a worthwhile investment to invest in the game you are playing.
