Jewelry can do a remarkable job of accentuating the best features of ourselves. It adds just the right touch to an outfit that feels otherwise lacking. There are many ways to play with jewelry for a great look. Start by getting a feel for what colors and metal tones will heighten your look. The right jewelry to complement the right undertones in your skin will bring our your most natural beauty.

To pull jewelry together for a great look start looking for the right color palette for your outfit. Chances are the outfit is already in mind, so let's accentuate it!

For a classic example let's use the little black dress. Its versatility lends to a broad spectrum of jewelry possibilities. Wearing stud earrings like crystal round studs would create a subtle angelic look. Try dangling crystal chandelier earrings for a more flirty statement. To complement the earrings I would suggest a simple pendant necklace. It's classy and can be found in really cute colors for modest pricing. There are other types of necklaces that are more bold. Pairing these more decorated necklaces with a more modest outfit would be the best. Just a simple pair of earrings and a necklace will bring the outfit together.

There is one rule to always follow and this is: Never have your outfit compete with your jewelry and vice versa. If the dress is bold and the jewelry is bold the look can get a little gaudy. If the dress is simple and the jewelry is simple you can look really subdued.

It can feel a little weird wearing jewelry for the first time. If you happen to be one of those gals who never took an interest in it. Truth be told, if you wear jewelry frequently enough it will become a part of you. Take off your favorite necklace that you've been wearing for the last month and your neck will feel a little naked.

Wearing jewelry gives us a sense only wearing jewelry can. It makes us feel elegant and reflects our personal taste. Some jewelry is worn as a hidden message of a gift between two people which is so special. Other times we buy a piece of jewelry as a gift to ourselves as an incentive for all our hard work. Wearing lockets with pictures of loved ones keeps them close at heart. There can be more to the story of one's jewelry ensemble than sparkly eye candy.

Wearing jewelry is not simply a good accessory for pulling together a great look. It has such deeper meaning, even for the most humble and simple in design.
