Daddy, far too many years have flown past,
Since I have gotten to see you last.
I remember those faded overalls you'd wear,
And that worn out hat over your thinning hair.
Your hands, dirty from planting bulbs,
You spent your life doing what you loved.
I admired you dad, and loved you too,
Though you are gone, but I still do.
These days on Father's Day I look to others,
Dad's of children that are so much younger.
My grandgirls', and their childrens' pops',
But missing you is what will never stop.
I'd still like to tell you Happy Father's Day,
Even if to do so I must kneel over your grave.
I'm thankful that my grandkids knew you once,
I'm glad that you were a dad they had loved.
I miss you dad, and yes, so do they,
But we will pay homage to you on Father's Day.
For without you, there would be no me,
Then on and on, we'd have no family.
But you once were, daddy, and I have proof,
In pictures and my green thumb from you.
I pray sometimes and I wish you well,
On my knees there are stories that I do tell.
To let you know dad, that I thank you much,
For raising me, loving me and teaching me stuff.
You may be gone at least in human form,
But in my heart you remain, forever more.
So daddy, this Father's Day I do devote to you,
And to let you know that I love you too.

Happy Father's Day Mother Dear
I know that dad was never here;
He never called or shed a tear;
And sometimes you were all alone
On
Fathers come all shapes and sizes.
Suddenly, one realizes
That Father's Day has come again;
It always does and all

A Father's Lesson about God
His voice did not frighten us,
An angry hand he did not raise,
We might glimpse a flare of temper,
But
I looked across at the gray in his hair
And I wondered if each had it's own story to tell
I wondered if it would be a sad one
