Is multiculturalism the darling of political correctness?
"As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the day of the Son of Man," Luke 17:26. Here we are less than a week to Christmas, and where is our nations focus? Slowly but surely, the Great and terrible Day of the Lord is coming upon this nation as a "Thief in the Night." Many are oblivious to what is really happening in the world around us. We are to busy worrying about how we are going to pay our bills, and where we are going to live to see what is on the horizon. We are a nation that is consumed in ourselves and for ourselves,. We are blinded to the things that are eternal and that really matter.
As I watch the political news shows, it seems no one can agree on anything for this nation. In my home state of Arizona, I am watching peoples hearts get harder and harder by the minute. This state is a state where "grace" is not given very much. There is only grace for the "politically correct", but for anyone else, it is burn baby burn! We have become ostriches with our heads in the sand. We don't want to look at anything bad because we have our own problems to deal with.
Our nation that started as a melting pot for all peoples to come and share the dream of freedom has now become a nation under the multi-cultural spirit. Instead of becoming One nation under God, we now have to be many nations on one land, divided and separated by culture and other gods.
My Grandparents came from Italy. They had to learn English, get a job with no assistance from the government and make themselves succeed. My grandfather did just that. He was able to start a successful bus company, until the depression wiped him out. Yet, he still found a job and provided for his family. His hearts desire was to be AMERICAN! This is not what is happening today in our nation. Today we want to be little Cuba, little Iraq, little Puerto Rico or Little Mexico. There is nothing wrong with keeping our traditions and heritage. Matter of fact, the distinctness of each part is what makes us beautiful.
What makes us ugly as a nation is the same spirit that has invaded Europe. The immigrant populationdoes not want to assimilate into the nation, nor are they made to. We now have to say our people are Anglican- Americans, African- Americans, Polish -Americans, Italian-Americans, Muslim- Americans. What happened to just being Americans? Multiculturalism has divided this nation as badly as slavery did in our early histroy. It is destroying the very fabric
