Comparing XM and Sirius satellite radio

Anthony, Sonic Theatre (where actors re-enact famous movies and some movies are directly played) and Oprah.

There is also a show called XM Extreme. But if you are into shock jocks then this is not the product to use. The undisputed king of shock jocks is undoubtedly Howard Stern and he headlines the entertainment shows on Sirius. Other notable shows are Discovery (similar to the channel), A&E, Court TV, Radio Classics and Grand Ole Opry.

As a fan of Howard Stern (though not talk shows in general) I must point out that he is finally freed of the limitations to his show before. Instead of operating under the iron fist of the FCC he is now free to say and do whatever he pleases. If you are wondering if he can go any farther than he already has on public radio let me put all doubts to rest: he can and has already. Some of the things he has women do on his studio now, for instance, would have gotten him sued back to the Stone Age a few years ago.

On the other hand you have Oprah on XM. She offers very practical advice to millions of people on her show. Since it involves mainly talking anyway it transitions perfectly to radio. Since in many ways she is the antithesis to Stern XM was wise to pick this show up as a counterpoint. I would say the VH1 and MTV shows draw in the same type of crowd as Stern but people who like those channels usually like them for the shows which cannot be easily transcribed to radio (nor do they even try, focusing on erntertainment news instead) and already have numerous musical channels to choose from as well.

So above all it comes down to a choice between Oprah Winfrey and Howard Stern. Pick your preference among those two entertainment juggernauts and your choice is made for you. And if you have no preference between them or no interest in talk radio in general, these are basically different names for the same service.
