the feelings of the characters and what they are going through very well.
But Sex and the City cannot end on such a dark note (though I did wonder for a moment how it could not), and new characters, including a house maid for Carrie, come into play, creating some comic relief (as if the scenes with Charlotte and Samantha were not enough!). Things have a way of resolving themselves, but the great thing about the film is that it takes time. Things don't just magically become better. Old hurts aren't mended overnight. None of this delicate and realistic process is rushed. Indeed, the entire film had no discernible pacing issues. It didn't drag and it wasn't rushed, which is particularly important for the film's ending.
If you are a fan of the TV series, you will like this. If you're a casual movie-goer, you will enjoy this. There is darkness and humour (one scene with Charlotte is particularly hilarious), plenty to satisfy everyone. Also, don't let people fool you into thinking that men cannot watch and enjoy this. I'm a man and enjoyed every moment of it. The intelligence, wit, and extremely tight writing show that this is not merely a piece of entertainment, but something that has depth and lasting appeal. I thoroughly recommend it.
