Who can forget Amy Winehouse and hubby Blake rolling around in a toxic haze of wasted moments ? It's just not concievable that Amy wanted to look like a coked up version of Marge Simpson puffing on illicit ciggarettes and bonging around a dimly lit basement croaking her racist nursery rhyme with various hangers on and unsavoury bystanders ready to sell her up to a hungry media. How could that truly wretched image ever be staged ? It couldn't possibly do her already diminshing popularity rate any good whatsoever. Particularly in light of the fact that many in the Music Industry believe the Diva from North London's Jewish Quarter is already overhyped, overrated and now possibly just over.

Amy Winehouse has always been a source of comic fascination from her cartoon like clothes : the over exaggerated beehive also in the vein of Marge, the strangulated bluesy croak rather like Thelma when she's had too many ciggies and the clunking trippy stileteos she strutts about in. It's all so clownish, but to stage such potentially destructive and unpleasant behaviour would be undeniably silly. It could even mark the end of her recording career and her Management team headed by her protective father would not want her to jepoardise that . With other celebrities bad behaviour pushes them to the head of the popularity stakes and earns them admiration from freinds and foes alike but in this instance the idea that somoneone would set about to deliberately shoot themselves down seems somewhat cyncial and frankly farfetched. One has to surmise that Amy was keeping it real.

Naomi Campbell is another darling diva who is always being derided for her : "Queen of Sheba", ways but I honestly believe that more often than not she is just misunderstood then she becomes annoyed , later angry, finally there is a court case, litigation follows and the possibilty of fines and so on. An entire media circus made out of perhaps a few misplaced comments and nasty spats .

As the news agenda is often led by celebrity behaviour even when the particular artist is being real they are often accused of being fake. MJ (Michael Jackson) is a case in point . It's almost expected that he will do something strange, controversial, or wierd when often it would be clear to any reasonable person that his conduct can't possibly be staged; we start thinking that in Michael's world it could well be.

I think that celebrity status confers a self belief in that individual that they are almost infallible and as the oxygen
