Some of my employers may have stated (under their breath of course,) that I was not playing with a full deck. But actually it was more accurate to say that I had as many W-2 forms as there are cards in a full deck. You see, I loved my many jobs, but got restless after the honeymoon period was over and was ready to spread my wings and move onto the next vocational adventure. I can fondly say I have had a myriad of fun and very interesting job experiences and my resume is rather lengthy and rich in diversity.
In high school I was the Dunkin Donuts girl. But after gaining fifteen pounds in two weeks, I decided that I needed to trade in the boston cream donut and dunk into another after school job. I switched over to the local movie theatre and graduated to the popcorn girl. Coming home every night smelling of butter and covered in grease, turned my chick flick job into a short story.
In college I changed my major weekly. I was in search of the perfect major. One that would allow me to change the world for the better. I finally decided on one major. You could say I hung out in the produce section of the job market. I produced results but they seemed to be short term. By the time I was 21 I had many W-2 forms representing the multitude of careers I pursued. Never a problem getting hired. Just a problem being satisfied for long. "When I grow up I want to be..." had a different ending depending on my mood, motivation, day of the week or the direction of the wind.
There was my job as an Assistant Social Director at a large and famous Miami Beach Hotel. I called bingo by pool side (on a microphone to boot), greeted guests at the welcome desk with an energetic smile, and gave out beach bags on behalf of the hotel staff. I was the closest thing to Julie on the Love Boat minus the ocean, Doc, Captain Stubbing, and Isaac the Bartender. But after realizing that I was more like Gofer than Julie, I disembarked as fast as I could in search of my next career destination.
There was my stint in the banking industry, both as a teller and as a customer service agent. I remember carrying $100,000.00 back to the safe and accidentally dropping the loose
