Poetry: Dark Poems

Lonely Crow

Lonely Crow calls in the night.
The lonely crow fills you with fright.
Crossing your path when expected least,
You hide your face from the feathered beast.

Wings of pitch and eyes to match,
The ancient witch leaves your breath to catch.
He wants some company, always need more,
His solitary search turned a perpetual chore.

When you refuse his dark charms,
Lonely Crow then turns to harm.
Cawing, tearing, ripping, shredding;
You run without knowing where you're heading.

Horror has blinded, you cannot see,
"Just give up, I'll make you free!"
Stopping your running, you face the bird,
Trying to accept what you've done and heard.

No marks, no cuts, no running, no blood;
All in your mind, and your tears brought a flood.
He tricked you, yes, but you let him in,
With your lack of faith and life in sin.

Lonely Crow now has your soul.
It's hidden within his feathers of coal.
Moving on to steal again,
He leaves you in a cold, bloody rain.
