Poetry: Let's forget

by Ebony Hunter

Created on: June 16, 2008   Last Updated: August 08, 2011

I see you from a distance
memories begin to fly
I was about to turn away
yet you met my eye

Why must we remember
a time of hope
moments of happiness
before our hearts got broke

let's forget what we felt
with just a look
just a touch
a word or two

let's forget what we knew
when we locked eyes
if you knew me so well
how did you make me cry
hurt
bleed
and die

let's forget what I believed
let's forget how you felt
I turn away feeling
as if I lost myself
