HELPING THE STREET PEOPLE
With a deep concern for street people, those who have no home, nor hope nor future - a grandiose scheme has been toying with my mind.. Since housing costs are so much out of line within our cities and with no work opportunities we have a crying need to help the destitute people. I realize that my thoughts have no human basis.
Humanity alone can not solve this problem, yet it is a vexatious problem which isn't going to leave us. While the popular concept from graduating out of high school and continuing throughout life is to have as fine a career as possible and make as much money as possible we have a majority throughout the world who have no prospects for a future. I don't consider this fair.
Yet, God has taught us that all things are possible if we only believe in Him. Perhaps this grandiose scheme will work if it has God's blessing.
The scheme is this, the impoverished people require work, home, and an income which will sustain and leave some extra money for the niceties of life.
Having considered the matter the only solution I can find is that a market is required, the manufactured product would have to be based upon a highly marketable product, in other words something which would be in demand for every household.
Finally I came to the realization that this would require the foundational backing of charity organizations, churches and community-minded people. It definitely is NOT a single person project. The government would need to be interested and give its okay, then keep its nose out of the operation of the venture.
I came up with one solitary solution: The manufacturing of door mats and similar useable products out of recyclable tires, that is, vehicle tires.
There are uncountable problems in the way of success with such a venture. I could name a hundred stumbling blocks in the path of the venture's success and yet I believe, provided this would be according to God's will, that All things are possible.' Belief in God's consent is of the utmost importance.
No doubt there are other workable plans, the only thing I'm sure of is that the street people need our help and money alone isn't going to fulfill this.
This is a matter for prayer and meditation, for consultation between interested citizens who are willing to share with the destitute without expectation of personal gains. Should you know of anyone who is interested in a similar project or this particular one please let me know.
