You reached out and we touched.
We created fires that set to blaze
my glacial heart, broken so long ago,
ordained to isolation and to despair.
Destined never to see the face of love.
But in your arms I felt joy and me.
We found we were a perfect fit,
that nothing would ever separate.
While we basked in this miracle,
you called me honey.
I was your honey, your special treat.
I became for you a constant sweet,
that you savored many times over.
Long past repast, we hungered.
With us,enough was never quite so.
Now our miracle is no more my love.
the fire of yesterday is a dying ember;
it is a relic of a time of great promise -
a future denied. I care not, in my heart,
I know I will aways be "your honey."
