Adding a solar power system to your home

A solar system is a renewable form of energy and is one of the recommendations for the management of global warming. Installing a solar system is advantageous because:

(a) Installing solar system entitles the home owner to tax rebates that can reduce the cost of solar system.
(b) The home owner is entitled to some state and federal incentives because of embracing renewable energy strategy.

(c) The home owner may sell the excess kilowatts of energy to the power station and earn revenue.
(d) Installing a solar system prepares the home owner to future decreasing fossil fuel energy since fossil fuel is non-renewable.
(e) It also helps the home owner not to be exposed to escalating fossil fuel prices that can also increase grid power.

A solar power can be installed in a home as the only source of energy or can be installed to operate alongside the mains electricity on the grid.

Installation of a solar system requires licensed personnel in the field. This is because licensed personnel are able to determine the angle of inclination of the panel on the roof in order to maximize reception of sun rays.

A contractor is able to evaluate other factors that affect performance of the solar system like:

(a) Amount of sun that the property is exposed to in a year. This further determines the solar panel that the home owner purchases.
(b) Amount of kilowatts that would be used and how much the home owner can sell to the grid without affecting performance of his appliances.
(c) The electrical needs of the home owner to either depend on the solar system or to partly depend on the grid.
(d) The amount of investment that the home owner has for the solar system.

Licensed personnel are able to make an efficient wiring system that is not likely to cause any short circuit. A short circuit can cause electrical fires that can destroy the home. It is therefore important for home owners to use licensed contractors in order to increase compensation from insurance firms.
