Style is expressing who you are, what you want to say while not giving a damn! It is an expression of you are as an individual and is important for creating and shaping your image. Fashion trends can feature from time to time as part of your style. For example if your style is rock chick you may incorporate the latest skinny jeans into your rock chick look by finishing them off with a chunky stud belt. Keeping this in mind there are several ways to maximize your style on a budget while keeping it fresh and up to date over time:
1) Build a working wardrobe:
The best way to maximize your style on a budget is to build a wardrobe of several base items that do not go out of fashion. Base items include a good white/black t-shirt and singlet, basic pair of boot leg jeans, black/white pullover, black coat, black tights etc. Since these items can be used for a long period of time they will extend your wardrobe and will save you money, as you can simply purchase a few of the season's high fashion items to complement your base wardrobe instead of buying a whole new wardrobe each season.
2) Let your feet do the walking:
To get the best price on your fashion essentials you MUST shop around. When you go shopping for clothing and accessories, be sure to go to a major shopping centre where there are many different shops to choose from. This way you can compare the cost of certain items between stores. For example many shops will offer the latest fad fashion item but they will have it at different prices. One store may have the latest knit dress at $89.95 while another has a cheaper knock off version for $39.95. Usually the department stores such as Target will offer a lower priced alternative.
3) Rent it instead:
Many of you will drool over the latest designer handbag and at $2000 plus; its up-to-the-minute fashion status will change to last-season quicker than you can pay off your credit card debt from purchasing the bag. It may be a better idea to rent the bag instead, at a cheaper rate considering you will stop using it after a couple of months. www.lovemeandleaveme.com.au is one such site that offers this service.
4) Sensible Shopping:
When shopping for clothing and accessories try to choose items that will not date quickly. This way the item will have a longer life. If want to buy the latest fashion item that will date quickly buy a cheaper version and one instead of several of this item. For example noticeable prints quickly turn stale so instead of buying five leopard print
