So when Iron Man came out and I saw the trailer for the Hulk in the theaters for the first time, I turned to my friend and said:
"The Hulk will be better than Iron Man"
When Iron Man finished and I was pleased; but, not overjoyed, with the movie I said:
"The Hulk will be better then Iron Man"
And you know what...?
I was wrong.
I was really, REALLY wanting the is movie to be good; because I'm a huge fan of Batman Begins and I know the Dark Knight is going to be perfect; thusly, I wanted some worthy competition for my front runner. The Hulk doesn't even hold a candle to the TRAILERS for The Dark Knight.
For the People giving this Movie an A or A+ I'm not sure what film they saw or if they've ever seen a movie before. For the People giving it an F I don't know if they've got a chip on their shoulders or just don't know how to handle an, attempt, at plot development.
The first Twenty Minutes of this film are extremely good. We get a great feel for Banners life on the run and what he's going through. However after the first appearance of the Hulk the movie begins to lose focus.
First of all the acting was NOT up to par; I'm not sure what they told Liv Tyler; but, they should have told her to do exactly the opposite of what she did. Ed Norton was bland at best, he didn't get the chance to act between being the Hulk and then being Bruce totally exasperated from being the Hulk all he did was look distressed and mildly faint.
The supporting cast was Naught...General Ross and Abomination were just two of the most useless villains I've ever seen.
Marvel catches Marvel's Disease again on this film; the pacing was so awkward at times that the entire feel of the film was thrown off by people getting over the previous incident too quickly. Parts of the other trailers and commercials do not appear in the film and I'm not surprised that Ed Norton is apparently "upset" with the final cut of the film.
All in all it's an Ok movie; you wanna crunch popcorn and spend sometime in an air conditioned space? Hulk is a good Idea.
If you're looking for a movie to keep you on your toes and have you excited and interested throughout then this is NOT the film to see. The Cameo from Tony Stark is EXACTLY what you see in the commercial and I assure you, you know exactly whats going to happen in the film from the very moment you heard about it.
Predictable.
The purpose of this films seem only to be to reintroduce the character that will eventually co-star in the Avengers film in 2011; and if the Avengers film is anything like Iron Man and this Hulk then I'm thoroughly not interested in seeing that either.
I would not spend my money on it again at all and I'd suggest that you find something better to do with your $10-$11.75, such as get a nice meal or get some gas?
out of 10...
