Things to consider in designing your home's cooling system

Prepare a budget and stick to it. Today's economy and the cost of inflation is becoming a top reason for homeowners to lose the American dream. We need long-term solutions. It is possible to integrate safety solutions into the design for adding cooling systems to the home that will pay off in more than one way over the course of time without going into major debt.

Implement as many electric-saving ideas as possible. Consider installation of solar panels to store electricity; the electricity will come on if the panels' power depletes overnight. Ensure the contractors installing solar panels have licenses for this type of work. This is an excellent time to replace appliances with energy-saving appliances. Solar panels can run appliances just as electricity from the power company can.

Visit a quality nursery with knowledgeable staff members. Opt to choose fast-growing trees or mature trees to plant near the home to provide shade in order to lower the cooling costs. Hire contractors with credentials and information regarding local regulations for your area. Include adding fruit trees and plants to reduce grocery bills during fruit-growing seasons. Check with the nursery to find out if they deal with ecologically safe protection against harmful insects such as using ladybugs versus dangerous chemicals. Ladybugs are the enemy of harmful bugs. Many farmers are now using them in place of toxic chemicals.

Finally, locate a contractor to replace all old windows with the double-pane windows and insulated siding to seal cool air inside the home during summer months while keeping warm air inside during winter months. Income literally floats out the windows and cracks when the home does not possess the necessary insulation to prevent high costs of heating and cooling. It is important to only pay a small percentage upfront when the company begins the job then when it is complete and the homeowner is satisfied, pay the balance but only after obtaining a signed guarantee of work and expected savings.

Consider shaded areas with table and chairs for brunch outdoors.
