Thoughtful Father's Day photo gifts

Father's Day is that one day in the year when children of all ages, including those who have become father's themselves, can show their dads love, affection and respect for all that he has done for them. It is therefore a time for giving and perhaps one of the most wonderful gifts that a child can give to a father on this special day is one that is designed around photographs.

Photo gifts for Father's Day do not have to be expensive, especially in a world where digital photography is becoming the norm and modern printers can deliver photo quality images, even from copies. Similarly, they do not have to be complex either. For example, a simple framed photograph of you as a child with your father will be very much appreciated as it will bring back memories and serve as a reminder to him of the love you share together.

If you want to go further than just one photo, you could always create a montage of photographs that depict various times of life than you have spent together. This can be framed and placed in a prominent position in your father's home, a position where it will make him smile every time he passes by and looks at it afresh.

However, if you are feeling a bit more adventurous and want to present your Dad with something special, another idea would be to provide him with an album of photographs. These can be separated into different sections so that they tell a story of your journey with your Dad. For example, you could have the baby years followed by the Kindergarten period. Moving from there, the photographic journey could continue through high school, college and university. The perhaps there could be sections that reflect your journey with Dad through your relationship period, marriage and his role as a father to you and a grandfather to your children.

A variation on this theme could include times that are more special and that your Dad would consider to be especially memorable. One thinks of Holidays or sports and other special occasions that you shared together. All of these situations, in a photographic diary, will serve as memory reminders for your Dad. Think of how much joy these will bring to him on not only Father's Day, but also each time he looks at them in the future. This photographic approach to Father's Day gifts is a present that can last forever.

One other addition to these gifts that will heighten their value is the message beneath each photograph. I am not talking about putting a message that just says "Dad and me at the Zoo." Pick out a special memory from the occasion that you can write a few words about it that will make you and your Dad laugh, smile or cry. Make each photograph a living memory. Photographs can give so much and that is what Father's Day is all about, giving him reminders and memories of what he means to you and how much you love him and have always loved him.
