For my father who I miss dearly -
I remember when I was your princess
only the best was good enough for me
I remember when you built our house
and you planted a baby willow tree
I remember the worried look on your face
when I was sick or bloodied a knee
I remember learning to drive your car
how patient and proud you were of me
I remember we butted heads sometimes
and the feeling of sadness it left in me
I remember from you I learned just
how good and moral a man could be
I remember each and every Father's Day
to be thankful for what you did for me
