Believe it or not both the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 are now considered the seventh generation of game console's to hit the market, while each has their own unique distinction's they are both are hugely popular, however there were more people camping out on the sidewalk's for the Playstation 3 then there were for the Xbox 360 and here is why.
The Playstation 3 comes as two different packages, one is the basic and one is the premium, the basic package comes with a 20GB upgradeable hard drive, the new Blue-Ray drive created by Sony, a HDMI port, and a Bluetooth controller, while the premium comes with a 60GB upgradeable hard drive, the Blue-Ray drive, a HDMI port, the Bluetooth controller, chrome trim, a built in Wi-Fi, and a flash-card reader.
The Playstation 3 originally launched with 15 games titles, with Resistance: Fall of Man having sold the most so far, other game titles include Call of Duty 3, Madden NFL 07, Need for Speed: Carbon, and Tony Hawk's Project 8, additionally the Playstation 3 has eliminated region coded games all together, this mean's that you can now play games made in Japan on your own console without waiting for the USA release.
As usual the Playstation 3 comes with backwards compatibility so you can play games from the PS1 and PS2 on it. It also comes with some really neat firmware, an amazing graphical user interface, the option to install several different operating system's on it, a free Playstation network which mean's that you no longer have to pay to use online multi-player games, however some game developer's are still left with the option of charging you a monthly subscription to the game, a good example of this is the massively online multi-player game Warcraft, it also comes with a very easy to understand connectivity with the Playstation portable.
Moving onto the Xbox 360 we see some similar features compared to the Playstation 3, for instance the Xbox 360 also has two model's in which you can buy, the first system is known as the core system and includes Xbox Live: Silver, a month's subscription to Xbox Live: Gold, a gamepad, and some AV cables, while the upgraded version comes with a 20GB detachable hard drive, Ethernet cables, chrome finish, Xbox Live headset, Xbox Media remote, Xbox Live: Silver, a one month subscription to Xbox Live: Gold, a wireless gamepad, and some HD cables.
The Xbox Live subscription comes with several features, the first being an online marketplace in which you can buy your games and download them
