You might think its funny now
That could all change in a day and a half
How would you feel if you were one of them? How?
What gives you the right to laugh?
Its not just a war, an explosion, a death or a crash
Its people's lives that are broken
With that echoing smash
A silly reply is your only token
To their loss.
Families besieged by grief and pain
You don't feel their sorrow
When they wont see loved ones again
Your feelings could all change tomorrow
If the shadows were closer to home
Would you smile?
If you were suddenly left all alone
Would you laugh for a while?
Just because you don't know them, and they're different from you
Doesn't mean you shouldn't show them sympathy that is true.
