MONEY OR RECOGNITION?

In this day and age, of course how old you are, matters to a great percentage of middle age people, who have lack of skill or are out of their ball park on what they are used to and what they actually settle for.

Sure I went for money because I was young and had pre-school and elementary age children at the time in the eighties. Money meant everything in order to survive. As I got older and my priorities changed and i was off and on with my different careers I thought more about gow peole thought of me as far as my skill and detrimination to carry out a fob and not let go for lack of qualifications and energy.

Because I changed so many careers according to the pay scale and where I was at and how I wanted to give each job my best and be honest and trustworthy, I wanted to prove that I could be recognised by by skill and fast learning, no matter how old I was. Today's youth who have emotional problems apply for the type of job I have now and put less effort because they do not put forth the effort they should because they feel there is something better.

I take pride in the fact I work for a convienant store, as a clerk and I am will berespected and well liked and trusted. I am sure I do not make that much but I am happy and stress free for alot less and after 25 years of being stessed and what I have been through the love of my co- workers and management means everything to me.

Learning new thingsin a new job after doing professional type jobs is hard. The transition from trom that is different but not impossible. The fact that management can trust you to train others and take on shipments and run the store without being management, but treated like it without the title means more than just being there collecteing a paycheck.

I have been at my job in a small sore in a small town, I have definately managed to bluild up a cliental and be a trainer and be in charge of many aspects of the job in less than six months. That means everything when you have power over money and to be competietive over age verses beauty and experience.

I have recieved a degree in film, worked in movies I have been a waitress and and so may other occupations and hobbies that have made me money over the years, but what compares to the fact, that after all that, why would I chose this kinda life over the best job for
this. It is the best so far and I want to keep with it . It is my life, my family and I feel with all my responsibility, I have found where I need to be and that is what matters.
