Battle of the Tiles by Bimboosoft is a tile breaking battle ground game that seems with limited playing, to be a fairly basic game without a lot of real interest.

The first area that could be better is any tutorials or help. It gives some very basic instructions but from there, the player generally needs to figure out what to do without a lot of help from the game. Quite a bit of my free play time was spent muddling through not sure what the objective even was.

I chose the easy level. A green screen appears with several tiles with versions of warriors on the tiles. I was into the game a little while before I realized that if I click select all that the tiles will move on the tile battlefield as a group.

After I finally figured that out, I earned money by killing off the enemy tiles. I then was given suggestion to buy the enemy tiles. So I just started randomly started buying tiles. I would have liked a clearer explanation upfront about which enemy tiles are good to purchase because purchased some duds because I really didn't understand what I was purchasing.

Once it was clear that some tiles were more powerful than others, the game became more interesting. As the game progressed it became clear that the success in the game was to capture the power enemy warriors and enlist them on my side while at the same time killing off as many weak ones as possible. I still am not sure what the goal is or how long this session goes on.

Graphics really appear to be fairly basic. Nothing particularly bright colored or detailed in design. Sound consists almost solely of shooting types of noises or other war sounds.

In all fairness to the game Battle of Tiles, I think that the game deserves a second look due to my slow start due to some fairly pedestrian instructions. I believe the game would probably become more interesting as it increased in difficulty.

Although there is a slightly violent theme to the game, it seems innocent enough, as the tiles and the warrior designs are not very human in form. Elementary age boys may find the game to be fun and they will probably like the sound effects.

I rate Battle of the Tiles based on my short same play a 2/5. I am not likely to buy it for my family. I think there are games that will provide a little more satisfaction, better graphics and more interest than Battle of the Tiles. The positive reasons for the 2/5 rating are that it is in general a family friendly game and for the sound effects.
