In My Mind

I sit alone in my room and I thnk to myself,
why is the world so cruel? I watched out the window
people all around. Pushing their way through crowds. The look on their
faces is one of sadness. Everyone wears a frown.
These are the things I think of.

I ride alone on the bus. Sitting next to me is
a young girl. She should be in school. Does her parents
know where she has been?
These are the things I think of.

At the counter of my favorite cafe, I sit alone and drink
my coffee. The waitress comes over and throws my plate. Why
doesn't she just quit if she does not like her job. Maybe this
the only trade she has learned.
These are the things I think of.

One billion plus people in this world. More than a million
starve and die. The higer ups give themselves raises more than
my yearly salary. Why must so many die to keep the suits alive?
These are the things I think of.
