If you are below the level, the quest and the instance will be harder to accomplish, and if you are higher level than the quest or instance, it will be much easier.
You can also level up by just fighting mobs (non-playable computer controlled creatures) in different areas. Fighting mobs for experience gain is known as "grinding". Though not the most fun activity to do, it can help you if you are close to the next level and your current quests are too difficult.
When you reach a new even level, you will see your class trainer. There you will gain new abilities for your character. With the implementation of patch 2.4.3, you will be able to buy a mount at level 30 that you can use to ride around with and is much faster than walking. Each race has different mounts, and some mounts may be gained through reputation gained through questing or competing in battle arenas.
*Professions
Your character can have up to two professions to allow them to make things to use, sell for money or help complete quests. Professions range from gathering herbs, skinning animals and mining to building weapons and armor with blacksmithing or engineering. As you level up your profession skills, the more complex items or abilities open up to you. Professions also give you something different to do if you don't feel like questing. You can spend time gathering materials to make new items, or make items and place them on Auction to sell to other players.
In addition, Cooking, First Aid and Fishing are skills that all players have access to, and they are all useful in there own way.
*Weapons and Armor
As you quest, you will either find new weapons and armor or you will receive them as a reward for completing a quest or dungeon. Each class has weapons and armor that they can and can't use, and items that cannot be used can be easily traded or sold for money.
Some weapons and armor are basic, while others may have a special feature to it, called a buff, that adds to the abilities of the user. Cause more damage, protect the user from harm, or enhance attributes are some of the buffs that an item may have. These are clearly marked and easy for the player to determine if this is an item that they would like to have.
Most of the elements of gameplay are common enough to MMORPG veterans, but the difference is that WoW keeps it simple and they don't let the details get in the way of the game. Managing bag space and bank inventory, buying and selling on the Auction House, crafting objects, all of those steps can be done with ease. There is always more to learn and it is the subtle depth of the game that has to be experienced to be appreciated.
There are several servers to play on, from PvE (Player versus Environment), RP (Role Playing) to PvP (Player vs. Player) a player has a lot to choose from including time zones.
Whether you are trying a MMORPG for the first time or maybe you think sword and sorcer isn't for you, think again: World of Warcraft has something to appeal to everyone. How can 10 million people be wrong?
