The Government should never interfere in the affairs of business and that includes telecommunications and cell phones. At the present time, there have been suggestions from the FCC [Federal Communications Commission] to regulate the cell phone service contracts since the FCC thinks that people cannot read the contract and must be saved from themselves. The proposal by the FCC is just a poor excuse to regulate our lives even more for a minority that cannot read a cell phone service contract or does not have a lawyer to read out the terms of the cell phone service contract.

Another example of the government regulating cell phone service contracts has been between the Cell Phone Company called US Cellular and the State of Wisconsin. The purpose appears to be well intentioned since the agreement is designed to save money for students in the University of Wisconsin. What happens within the contract? The contract may have some words written in legal language that only a law student could understand. The contract may have some hidden charges. It could subject the Cell Phone Company to the whims of a state that cannot seem to take its eyes out of excess money to spend.

An extreme example of how the Government can regulate the terms of a cell phone service contract and why it should not be done is in Zimbabwe. While it is hoped that the United States of America does not suffer the same fate as the Republic of Zimbabwe, Cell or Mobile Phone Companies that do business in Zimbabwe [if there are any that still do business] are regulated by the Government, the Militia, and the Soldiers to the point that the Government has found a way to arrange the contracts in their favour. What is the significance? The Zimbabwean Government can listen to every conversation on a cell phone under the guise of "protecting national security".

While Cell Phones are being sent to Cuba, the Government of Cuba is also regulating the services and contracts of the services. One of the examples of Government interfering in the Cell Phone Business including contracts has been the establishment of the Cell Phone Service site called Cubalinda.com with offices in La Habana, Cienfuegos, Pinar Del Rio, Varadero, Camaguey, Holguin, Cayo Coco, Santi Spiritus, and other places. It is via this service that government interferes in the cell phone business including the service contracts and that should be prohibited in the United States of America.

It is for this reason and more that there should be no regulation of Cell Phone Service Contracts by the Government. The Government should only obey the Constitution and govern as prescribed by the cherished and tried document that maintains the United States of America instead of regulating every business in the world.
