Oh...I saw him.
A sweet little boy
Standing anxiously
On the ignorant streets
Near a golden cornfield.
I watched carefully
As his eyes welled up
With every passing car.
He waited, waited
For a miracle, something
Or at least someone
That would take him in.
But there he stood,
So lonely,
So frightened,
So...saddened.
I approached cautiously
And told the boy
He was not the only one.
There stood many others
Just waiting
For prosperity,
For joy,
For love.
The boy glanced up,
Tearfully, and responded:
"Oh, please, please
Take me with you;
I shall bring you joy
And happiness and glory.
Take me not to blankness,
But bliss and love."
I could help not
How that little boy
Touched me so.
I took his hand
And declared,
"Question not
The ways of the Lord.
You have waited long enough;
Prosperity and purity
Has come to greet you.
Little one,
Welcome to my home."
