Father's day is not just for honoring our earthly father's but also to honor our heavenly father. So what better way to do both than to give your dad a gift(s) that teach, challenge, and strengthen your father's walk with our heavenly father. The greatest gift you can ever give your dad this father's day is deep, long lasting roots in God and in turn he will pass God's character on to his friends and family. Here are a few great ideas and suggestions for your christian dad this father's day.

Books:
There are so many wonderful christian books these days to pick from starting with the best selling book of all time The Bible. There are many encouraging, uplifting devotional bibles designed just for men and fathers. Depending on which translation your dad prefers, the choices are endless and especially helpful.There are also devotionals just for men and dads that he can use along with his bible to enhance and give understanding to dad during his study time with the Lord. I personally suggest 15 mins. alone with God for men by Bob Barnes, I have given this to my own husband and find it inspiring as well as able to gently equipt a dad with his leadership in the home and most importantly his walk with God. Another great option for dad is Fathers of the Bible by Robert Wolgemuth. This book is great for dads who love to read about all the men of the bible and the struggles they had to overcome. The book discusses 12 biblical men such as Noah, Jacob, Joseph and of course David. Your dad will love reading about all of their struggles,challenges,failures and responsibilities as well as how they overcame,grew, and were comforted by God the whole way.

Christian music:
Today I feel fortunate to be able to pick from so many different artist that sing christian music. No matter what your dads music tastes are there is something for every dad. Does your dad like to rock? Well, mine does (ha,ha) for those who do I suggest bands like Disciple, Seventh Day Slumber, or maybe 3 Days Grace. Does your dad like rock a little milder? Then maybe he would enjoy Plumb, Casting Crowns, or Jeremy Camp. Maybe country is more his style then he would enjoy Mercy Me, Gary Chapmen or possibly Glen Campbell.Old time Gospel more his taste than consider artist like Bill Anderson, The Gathers, or The Kedalls. There are so many different artist from Hard Rock to Old Time Gospel. Whatever your dad likes there are several artist and styles to pick from.
