Reflections: Making a difference

If I were president, I would work for the people. I would do what is best for them. I would make the masses my concern instead of concentrating on the elite. Politics have become whom you know and what you can do for them. It is also based on where the money is. I would make it a point to reappoint human beings as the biggest asset to this country. I would make education the main focus, and pay the teachers accordingly. I would make healthcare more accessible, and relinquish funds from other wasteful institutions. I would re-examine the prison system, mental health fields, and welfare. The prisons would eventually become housed only with those who do not have a mental illness, along with those who rape, or hurt children.

The mental health field will have more qualified people installed, and also paid accordingly.
Instead of focusing on giving people money through welfare, I would deter the money towards a more useful source: increasing the living wage. By doing this, it will put more focus on our people instead of others. I would still be an ambassador to the world, but only when they ask, and not when I want something. This sounds like a fairy tale, but if I was president, I at least try to make things better for the people and not "my" people.

Instead of dreaming...

If I were a judge, I would not make my decisions based on whom I knew. I would not make judgments harsher for those because of their name; I would base it on what they did wrong. I would make sure I understood math and english, because to be in that position, I should be educated.

If I were a police officer, I would enter the force not only for a paycheck or for power. I would be there to do my job, be a public servant. I would not be conquered by the politics. I would make sure that I knew the laws, and follow them. I would not let my past make me biased; I would do what is right, because that would be my job.

Instead of if I were the president, a judge, or a police officer, if I had power of any kind I would simply just do my job. If I had any kind of job that had people's lives in my hands, I would do everything in my power to make things better for them. All I have is the dream that these ideals will be recognized again someday. I am going to continue to live by the quote from unknown: "What you do for yourself dies with you, what you do for others, becomes immortal". Hopefully someday I will make a difference, and others will follow.
