Poetry: Pain

by Cortland Mccabe

Created on: June 13, 2008

The cool winter breeze whispers across her soft angelic face.
She remains there quiet and alone in the forest.
With closed eyes, she embraces the cold.
She wants to feel it surround her slowly with passion.
She wants to dream of more than just happiness.
She wants to accompolish more than what her father thinks of her.

As she stands there stern with compassion for justice,
she glances down at a puddle in the mudd.
She stares at herself long and hard.
And during this moment she realizes that she can't feel the wind.
She could not dream of anything more than happiness.
She failed to show her father who she truly was.

She will always remain there quiet and alone
wishing that she could feel again.
She will always be there yerning to be happy once again.
She will never leave the forest, for she is dead.
The forest is where she must remain for all of eternity just dreaming of living once more...
