The crafts that are the most fun are those that keep your kids interested, require a little mess and the ones that produce great results. A handmade craft that is created by your children are always appreciated and are cherished forever.
Following are some crafts that kids of all ages can have fun creating for dad on Father's Day. Some of these may require adult supervision, but the most important thing to remember is to have fun and let your children's creativeness take over.
HAND MADE CARD
Depending on your children's ages, this may require a little prompting from mom. Sit down with a piece of paper and ask your kids questions about dad. What do they love about dad? Does he give them horseback or shoulder rides? Does dad cook the best spaghetti?
Provide your kids with a number of materials to begin creating. You could use bits of cut up felt in various colors, pictures from magazines, photos your children love that are of them and dad, pipe cleaners, glitter and glue. Using scissors, you could cut out the card in the shape of a face.
Using heavy card stock paper, have your kids decorate the card. If they're older they may write their special memories and words about dad, but if younger you can do so.
COOKING JAR
This is a great craft idea that kids will love to put together and then eventually put to use with dad.
Visit your local two-dollar store and purchase a glass jar that has a lid. Try and locate one that is decorative as the end result turns out to be very effective.
Using ingredients from dad's favorite cake of cookie mix, gather the dry ingredients together and have the kids layer them inside the jar. Once all ingredients are in the jar, place the lid on and have the kids write a small card to attach to the jar with the cooking instructions on it.
The kids will love putting this together and both dad and the children will enjoy making the cake together.
You could also use a selection of dad's favorite nuts or candy and layer them inside the jar. Include some ribbons to tie around the jar to enhance the effect.
"MY DAD" MEMORY BOX
Gathering together photos, trinkets and other items that your children associate with their dad and cherished moments, have your children place these items in a decorative box.
You could have your children paint their handprints and include special poems about dads and their kids.
Have your kids cut out words or pictures from magazines that denote special moments or words about their dad. For example, a picture of a F1 racing car from
